Hill House started life as an 18th Century private house and has since been carefully converted into a beautiful care home with every modern convenience. You'll find us situated in a pleasant suburb of Elstree and surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds, including mature trees, an attractive patio area and tranquil sensory garden.
We want our residents to feel completely at home with us, and we work hard to ensure that they retain as much independence as possible in a safe and secure environment. Our focus is on providing care tailored to each individual, and helping them lead as full and active a life as possible.
We offer 24-hour personal support to those with a condition that requires frequent specialised, qualified nursing care.
Round the clock care in a safe, comfortable environment for up to six weeks. Perfect for carers who are ill, on holiday or just need a break.
Provides accommodation, meals and personal care for those who find it increasingly difficult to cope at home without assistance.
We have specialist facilities, equipment and highly skilled staff that care for a wide range of disabilities and needs.
Care for those recovering from surgery or illness, through a combination of rest appropriate exercise and balanced diet.
We're always striving to improve our treatments and services so feedback from residents and relatives is very important to us. The results of this help us provide the best care possible.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This helps us to identify how we can deliver person-centred care for the people living in Bupa homes.
Ensuring that our residents have something fun and engaging to do every day is an essential part of the care we provide.
Our Community Connections team at Bupa supports fundraising and volunteering. We hold community events and invite friends, family and people who live alone into our home to meet the residents and enjoy some fun activities. We visit local attractions, the cinema and enjoy frequent days out to London in our own mini bus.
We also enjoy visits from local entertainers and the mobile library. Every month there's a Church of England service and we hold regular community and charity events. Friends and family can come along at any time to join in our activities.
Residents are welcome to eat in their room, or join others in the elegant dining room. Friends and relatives are always welcome at mealtimes. Every day we show our menu in large, clear type on display boards in the dining room.
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
Many of our well-furnished, attractively decorated en-suite bedrooms have delightful views over the surrounding gardens. All the rooms have a 24-hour call system, TV and telephone points, thermostatic radiators and smoke detectors.
Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with their favourite ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture.
Call now to book a visit and meet our care home manager, who can answer any questions you may have.
There’s a lot to figure out when it comes to funding. Pop in for a visit and we will be happy to talk it over.
