Discover the friendly, caring environment created by our registered nurses and highly trained care assistants at Shaw Side Nursing and Residential Home. Situated in the quiet suburb of Shaw, our home is made up of five separate houses, each carefully designed with its own distinct character while retaining the same homely atmosphere.
At Shaw Side we are surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens with a pond, fruit trees and an attractive summerhouse. There are also several lovely patio areas where our residents love to relax among the colourful raised flowerbeds.
In addition to person centred care, we provide nursing staff to support residents who require qualified nursing care.
24-hour care and assistance provided for those living with dementia, with a lifestyle profile created to make them feel safe and comfortable.
Expert personal care 24-hours a day in comfortable, homely accommodation with daily activities to stimulate body and mind.
Provides accommodation, meals and personal care for those who find it increasingly difficult to cope at home without assistance.
Round the clock care in a safe, comfortable environment for up to six weeks. Perfect for carers who are ill, on holiday or just need a break.
We offer 24-hour personal support to those with a condition that requires frequent specialised, qualified nursing care.
We're always striving to improve our treatments and services so feedback from residents and relatives is very important to us. The results of this help us provide the best care possible.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This helps us to identify how we can deliver person-centred care for the people living in Bupa homes.
We know that interesting activities are a vital part of good care. Residents' sleeping patterns and appetites are improved if there's something fun and engaging to do every day.
There's something for everyone at Shaw Side, from gentle exercise sessions to film clubs, bingo and baking. Beauty therapy sessions and clothes parties are always popular – plus, for our green-fingered residents there's a little light gardening.
Local entertainers pop in regularly and we organise days out to local garden centres, canal boat trips and visits to Blackpool's famous illuminations. We also work with nearby schools and charities organising community events.
Residents can pursue their own interests, revive a forgotten hobby or even try something new. Friends and relatives are welcome to join in at any time.
You will find only the freshest ingredients in our expertly prepared meals. Upon arrival, a member of the catering team will be along to discuss likes, dislikes and any special dietary requirements.
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
