Our home is set in 12 acres of grounds and landscaped gardens, boasting a water feature, raised flowerbeds summer house and croquet lawn. The stunning main building retains many of its original features. Residents can relax in the elegantly furnished Adam Room, or enjoy lunch in the dining room with its ornate wood panelling.
We take time to get to know each resident, tailoring the care we provide to suit each person. Our dedicated care team is immensely proud of the facilities available to residents, and work hard to ensure they retain as much independence as possible.

We provide respectful pro-active care for residents and relatives in their last days of life. We ensure that their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are considered and met.

We're always striving to improve our treatments and services so feedback from residents and relatives is very important to us. The results of this help us provide the best care possible.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This helps us to identify how we can deliver person-centred care for the people living in Bupa homes.
We have a varied and inclusive activity programme that takes into account residents different tastes and levels of ability. Our dedicated activity co-ordinator makes sure there's always something fun to do.
Residents might already have a few hobbies and pastimes and we encourage them to keep them up, or we can help them rediscover an old pursuit that they might not have had time for. If they feel like trying something new there's lots on offer – our group activities are great for meeting new people.
Our daily activities include gardening, painting, bridge and croquet. Further afield there are trips to West Bay, Abbotsbury Swannery, Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens and Hardy's Monument. Friends and family are welcome to come along and join in the fun at any time.
Mealtimes are an important part of life at The Hyde. Our chef uses fresh, local produce when preparing delicious, well-balanced dishes that our residents can enjoy together in the traditional dining room or in their own bedroom if they wish.
We have an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to the home at any time. However, we recommend you avoid visiting at main meal times as these can be very busy. If you would like to speak to the home manager when you visit, you can make an appointment by calling us first.
Depending on its size, new residents are welcome to bring furniture to their new room. Many of our residents bring a favourite armchair or pictures and other small belongings to personalise their room.
This depends on availability of rooms in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment.Ask us a question
All 28 of our bedrooms are classically decorated with beautiful views of the gardens and most have en-suite facilities. The rooms are cleaned every day and there are smoke detectors and a 24-hour call system for added peace of mind.
We want our residents to feel as at home as possible, and encourage them to personalise their rooms with their most treasured ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture.

There’s a lot to figure out when it comes to funding. Pop in for a visit and we will be happy to talk it over.
